MASSAGE & PHYSICAL MEDICINE:
Chinese medical massage (Tui Na) or Japanese gentle acu-pressure massage (Shiatsu) could be used as part of your treatment protocol.
*Tui Na includes massage, traction, & acupuressure. The practitioner may brush, knead, roll/press and rub various areas of the body in order to open the body's defensive (wei) Qi and get the energy moving in both the meridians and the muscles.
*Shiatsu technique refers to the use of fingers and palm of one's hand to apply pressure to particular sections on the surface of the body for the purpose of correcting the imbalances of the body, and for maintaining and promoting health.
Cupping: a method of applying acupressure by creating a vacuum next to the patient's skin. The therapy is used to relieve what is called "stagnation" (the non movement of blood & energy), and is used in the treatment of respiratory diseases and pain.
